Women's Golf Places 11th at LSC Championships

THACKERVILLE, Okla. - The Western New Mexico University Women's Golf team would manage to rise up one spot after round three in the Lone Star Conference Championships. The Mustangs would finish 11th at (+59), 315-307-301-923.

Freshmen Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) lead the way for the Mustangs. Klemke finished T-27th at (+9) with a final round of 74. She would record six birdies on the tournament. 

Taysea Powell (Artesia, NM/Artesia HS) would place T-36th at (+12), shooting a 73 in round three. Powell lead the team with nine birdies, including three in-a-row in the final round.

Sitting in 57th is Mia Trousdale (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) at (+20), carding a 78. Trousdale would end up with two birdies in the tournament. 

T-58th is Chelsea Media at (+22), with a scorecard of 80. Medina snagged one birdie at the LSC Championship.

Shandiin Harper (Farmington, NM/Piedra Vista HS) rounds out the lineup at (+24) in 60th place, with a final round of 76. Harper would have four birdies for the tournament.

Dallas Baptist (DBU) heads into match play as the number one seed at (-23). West Texas A&M claims the second spot at (-13). St. Mary's finishes in the third spot at (+23). 

Julia Garcia of DBU would win the individual part of the LSC Championship at (-9). T-2nd is Alyssa Campbell of West Texas A&M and Faith DeLaGarza of DBU at (-8). Texas A&M International would claim the final spot at (+26).

The Mustangs will be action again for the PGA Works Collegiate Championship on May 8th in Birmingham, Ala.
