LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - The Western New Mexico University Women's Golf team finished play at Wigwam Resort-Red for the Southwest Minnesota State University Spring Invitational. The Mustangs would finish in 1st place at (+21), 293-306-599.
Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) would win the tournament at (-1), scoring a 73. Klemke would tally four birdies in round two, giving her seven birdies and one eagle in the tournament. The freshman would also be the only player to finish under par.
Right on the heel of Klemke is Shandiin Harper (Farmington, NM/Piedra Vista HS), alone in 3rd place at (+5), shooting a 78. Harper would score two birdies in round two to the tournament with five birdies.
Finishing in 5th is Chelsea Medina (Silver City, NM/Silver HS) at (+7), with a score of 77. Medina would record one birdie round two, for three birdies in the tournament.
Junior Taysea Powell (Artesia, NM/Artesia HS) finished T-12th at (+12), carding a 78. Powell snagged two birdies on day two, finishing with three birdies in the tournament.
Mia Trousdale (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) rounds out the lineup T-36th at (+21), shooting an 84. Trousdale would finish the day with a birdie for her only birdie of the tournament. Â
Following WNMU, in second place is Missouri Western St. at (+40). Chardon State would finish in 3rd at (+48).
Klemke would win the SMSU Invite at (-1). Tuesday Epperson of Westminster College Utah came in second place at (+4). Harper rounds out the top three at (+5).

The Mustangs will be back in action for the El Cheapo Classic on March 19th.
