ALAMEDA, Calif. - The Western New Mexico University Men's Golf team took part in the Tim Tierney Pioneer shootout at Corica Park Golf Course in Alameda, Calif. After day one the Mustangs sit T-7th at E with rounds of 286-290-576.
Two Mustangs would sit T-18th at (-1), Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS) and Anthony Lara (Anthony, NM/Gadsden HS). Geary would record a 70-73-143, with five birdies. Lara would shoot 68-75-143, including eight birdies and an eagle.
T-25th is Adam Samnegard (Norrkoping, SWE/Hagagymnasiet HS/Garden City CC) at E shooting 75-69-144. Samnegard would score seven birdies total.
Arnav Arkanath (Milton Keyes, GB/Sir Henry Floyd HS) sits tied for 46th at (+3) with rounds of 73-74-147. Arkanath would record four birdies.
T-59th Adam Niles (Kamloops, BC/Valley View Secondary) at (+6), carding 76-74-150. Niles would finish with three birdies.
Cal State San Marcos leads the tournament at (-10). Simon Fraser sits in second place at (-7). Chico State rounds out the top three at (-6).
 Three players currently sit tied for first place. Luke Dugger of Holy Names, Andy Yoon of CSU-Dominguez Hills and Greg Mouser of Cal State San Marcos are all at (-8).
The Mustangs will finish the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout tomorrow.
