AMARILLO, TX – Playing in the West Texas A&M Invitational at Lubbock's Tascosa Country Club, the Western New Mexico University women's golf team finished their first tournament of the autumn season. After playing in three rounds the mustangs finished 7^th overall.

Taysea Powell (Artesia, NM/Artesia HS) played a great weekend finishing T-9 out of 55 shooting a 73, 71 and 72 with a total score of 219. Mia Trousdale (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) finished T-26 carding a 75, 72 and 77 with a total score of 224.
Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) finished the tournament 35^th shooting a 72 and ended round 2 and 3 constantly shooting 79, with an overall score of 230.  Chelsea Medina (Silver City, NM/Silver HS) had an overall score of 236, shooting 78, 75 and 83 finishing the tournament at T-40.
Finishing the tournament West Texas A&M ended up on top shooting (-4) with an overall score of 848. Oklahoma Christian came in second shooting (+1) with an overall score of 853.

Oklahoma Christian's Maria Torres finished in first place shooting -13 to par with a score of 200. In second place is UT Tylers Julia Kerrigan carding -5 for the weekend with an overall score of 208 and Lorenza Perini from West Texas A&M shot -5 to par with a final score of 208.
 
The Mustangs will be back in action for the Shootout at Estrella September 26^th-27^th in Goodyear Arizona.
