Goodyear, AZ – The Western New Mexico University Women's Golf team hosted the RJGA Palm Valley Classic with a 31 team field. After round one, the Mustangs are tied in 11th, ending the round at 305.
Valeria Enriquez (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) had a strong first round shooting (E) with a 72. She currently sits T-7th. Carding an 75 and is T-29th Amanda Portillo (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS). Taysea Powell (Artesia, NM/Artesia HS) is T-51st after ending her round with a 77.
Chelsea Medina (Silver City, NM/Silver HS) is T-98 carding an 81. Shandiin Harper (Farmington, NM/Piedra Vista HS) is one stroke behind, currently T-114th after carding an 82. Mia Trousdale (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) played as an individual and is T-142 after ending her round with an 87.
CSU-Monterey Bay is in first place at (-1) and shooting 287. In second place is two teams tied. CSU East Bay and CSU LA are (+9) shooting 297.
West Texas's Gam Sangprasert and CSU Monterey Bay's Isabel Carpenter are T-1st at (-4) carding a 68. In third place is Colorado Christian's Faith Kilgore is (-3) carding a 69.
The Mustangs will continue the RJGA Palm Valley Classic on Saturday, starting at !0:30am MT.
