The Mustangs are Tied in 7th; Samnegard is Tied in 8th

Alameda, CA – The Western New Mexico University Men's Golf team is playing in the Cal State University Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout. After two rounds, the Mustangs are tied in 7th in a 17 team field, as they are (+2). The Mustangs as a team shot 292 and 286 as a team.

Adam Samnegard (Norrkoping, SWE/Hagagymnasiet HS/Garden City CC) is the only Mustang in the top-10. Samnegard is T-8th being (-3) shooting 69 and 72. Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS) ended his rounds with a 73 and 72, as he sits T-34th. 

Adam Niles (Kamloops, BC/Valley View Secondary) is T-39th, shooting (+2) through two rounds. He shot a 74 and 72 on the day. Arnav Arkanath (Milton Keyes, GB/Sir Henry Floyd HS) is (+3) and T-42nd after carding a 76 and 71. Aaron Perales (Deming, NM/Deming HS) is T-74th at (+9) ending his rounds with a 82 and 71. 

Playing as an individual and leading the field, CSU East Bay's Ananjan Kaushik shot (-8). In second is Holy Names's Edvin Backstrom, who shot (-6). There are four tied in third who shot (-5). 

After day one of the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, CSU Monterey Bay is in first place, being (-14). CSU East Bay is in second place ending with (-7)  and Holy Names is in third at (-6).

The Mustangs will finish their third and final round Tuesday morning at the Corica Park Golf Course.
