Wichita Falls, TX- Saturday afternoon Men's and Women's Cross Country conclude their meet at the Mustang Derby. The Western New Mexico University's Men's Cross Country team finished 1^st in the 8K run while the Women finished ^2nd in the 5K. Both Gracey Lovato (Rio Rancho, NM/Rio Rancho HS) and Elias Perez (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) took home 1^st overall for the Mustangs.
 
The Mustangs Men's team had phenomenal times across the board. Elias Perez (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) brings it home for the Mustang's coming in first place with a time of 25:03.7. Right behind him was teammate Aaron Perez (El Paso. TX/Eastwood High School) with a time of 25:04.3 putting him in second place. Third place goes to Cody Hepker (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia HS) with a time of 25:48.7. Rowan Flores (Española, NM/Los Alamos HS) will place fifth with a time of 26:01.5. Josuha Lara, Dylan Walker (El Paso, TX/Burges High School), Melvin Scott (Tohatchi, NM/Tohatchi HS), Ahren Thornson, Dax Rios (Las Cruces, NM/Centennial HS), David Ceballos (El Paso, TX/San Elizario HS), and Noah Bugeyong were also runners for the Men's Cross Country Team.
 
The Mustangs Women's team was lead by Gracey Lovato (Rio Rancho, NM/Rio Rancho HS) who placed first overall with a time of 18:33.5. Coming in next for the Mustangs is Itzela Darkenwald (Conroe, TX/Caney Creek High School) with a time 20:04.9 placing 15^th overall. Right behind was Aubrey Lozoya (Albuquerque, NM/Cottonwood Classic Prep) in 16^th place with a time of 20:06.0. Other runners for the Mustangs were Brenda Prieto (Las Cruces, NM/Mayfield HS), Lindsey Green (Silver City, NM/Silver HS), Nayeli Cobos (Dexter, NM /Dexter HS), Isabella Medina (El Paso, TX/Americas HS), Gladys Domenguez, and Abigail Cushman (Animas, NM /Animas HS).
 
The Mustangs will be back in action October 25^th In San Angelo, TX for the ASU Blue and Gold.
