Albuquerque, N.M. – The Western New Mexico University Men's Golf team finished in 6th at the RJGA South Central Shootout at the UNM Championship Course. After day one, the Mustangs were in second place but fell ending the shootout.  

Leading the 16-team pack, Colorado State-Pueblo took home the trophy going (-7). LSC foe Midwestern State finished second at (+7), and Colorado Christian is in third 16-strokes over.

Going 287 and 290 on day one, WNMU finished with 318 on their third and final round. Adam Niles (Kamloops, BC/Valley View Secondary) finished T-14th, carding 72-69-80-221. Adam Samnegard finished in the top-25, ending the shootout T-22nd going 72-73-78-224.

Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS) was two strokes behind, placing him T-28th (71-72-82-225). Arnav Arkanath (Milton Keyes, GB/Sir Henry Floyd HS) went 72-76-82-230 and Roman Romero (Albuquerque, NM/Manzano HS) finished 79-81-78- 238. Aaron Perales (Deming, NM/Deming HS) would also finish with 238 for the shootout, carding 78-82-78.

2: Adam Duncan - 69-70-72-211 (-5); Colorado Christian
3: Andrew Ni - 69-73-71-213 (-3); CSU-Pueblo
T4: Garrett Leek - 72-73-70-215 (-1); Midwestern State
T4: Ignacio Arcaya - 73-69-73 (-2);  New Mexico

The Mustangs next tournament will be the CSU-Pueblo Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Regional Preview October 4th and 5th, at Pueblo Country Club.
