Silver City, NM – Men's Head Cross Country Coach Macario Campos adds his third recruit of the Class of 2021. Coming to Silver City in the Fall of 2021, the native Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ahren Thorson will join the Mustangs.

"Ahren is a very self-motivated student-athlete. He brings in lots of energy and dedication to our team,: said Campos. "Ahren will join his former high school teammate, and current Mustang Cross Country member, Cody Hepker (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia HS)."

In the 2021 season, ending his senior career at Sandia High School, Thorson finished 18^th at the New Mexico State High School Cross Country Championship. He was all named on the 2021 All-District Cross Country team. In 2019, Thorson was All-District in track for the 800m. Academically, Thorson is stellar in the classroom, holding a 4.3 GPA.

"I look forward to having Ahren run the Mustangs and we are really excited for his new journey at WNMU," concluded Campos.
