Amarillo, TX – The Western New Mexico University Women's Golf team attended day one of the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational. For the first day, the Mustangs shot a total of 312 placing the team 9
th out of 13 teams.
The Mustangs had a three-player tie for the day leader after the day.
Amanda Portillo (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) shot +8 during the day for a score of 79.
Taysea Powell (Artesia, NM/Artesia HS) and
Shandiin Harper (Farmington, NM/Piedra Vista HS) also scored the same as Portillo for the day all ranking T-33
rd.
Chelsea Medina (Silver City, NM/Silver HS) followed the trio shooting 81 and was T-48
th to end the first day.
Mia Trousdale (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS), the individual for the Mustangs scored 91 and it is looking forward to compete in day two.
The Mustangs will continue their tournament at the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational for the final day on October 5th, in Amarillo, TX.
