Box Score Silver City, N.M. – After being in Arizona the previous two weekends, the Mustangs finally had the luxury of playing on their home field. WNMU hosted Central Washington in a non-conference match up Saturday afternoon, falling 36-27.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- WNMU were fired up out of the gates, scoring within the first 2.5 minutes. CJ Fowler (Mesa, AZ/Desert Ridge HS) found Reggie Colson through the air for a 15-yard gain.
- DeAndre Williams (Tucson, AZ/Tucson Magnet) brought his team to visitor's 8-yard line before teammate Vincent Brown (Los Angeles, CA/Artesia) capped off the 6 play, 65-yard opening drive for a WNMU touchdown.
- The Wildcats would answer at the 8:57 mark, scoring on a 19-yard pass from Christian Moore to tie the game at 7.
- Before the end of the opening quarter, Evan Rios (Madera, CA/Madera HS) would connect from the 28-yard line to put the Mustangs back up.
- After forcing the Wildcats to punt in the following drive, WNMU would answer with a 42-yard pass to Kourde Roberts (North Las Vegas, NV/Legacy) for their second touchdown of the game and a 10-point advantage.
- Despite a field goal by CWU, the leg of Evan Rios (Madera, CA/Madera HS) proved to be strong knocking down a field goal from 42-yards to maintain a 10-point lead.
- Central Washington scored just before the end of the half, as the teams headed into the locker rooms with WNMU ahead by three.
- The second half was all Wildcats as Gavin Todd hit one of his five field goals to tie the game at 20-all.
- CWU came from behind to take the 29-20 lead before Vincent Brown (Los Angeles, CA/Artesia) rushed for 3-yards to put WNMU within three.
- In their second to last drive, the Wildcats scored from 6-yards out to push their lead to 36.
