Strong Offensive Output by Falcons Too Much For Mustangs

Odessa, TX-- The Western New Mexico Mustangs went into Odessa for their first Lone Star Conference matchup of the season Saturday afternoon against the UT-Permian Basin Falcons, but were unable to come away with a win.

The Falcons came out of the gate hot on the offensive end, shooting 54% in the first half to take a 49-31 halftime lead. Their numbers would only improve in the second half, and UTPB would go on to win the game by a score of 101-77.

Willie McCray (Clovis, NM/Clovis/Westwind Prep Academy) lead the Mustangs with 14 points, while Amarion Cash (Phoenix, AZ/Mountain Pointe) and Eddie Giron (Monterrey, Mexico/Harmony Science Academy) added 12 and 10, respectively.

The Mustangs are now 3-3 (0-1) and will be back on the road December 14th and 17th for non-conference matchups against St. Edwards University and St. Mary's University.
