Mustangs Fall in San Antonio

San Antonio, TX-- The Western New Mexico University Mustangs were unable to overcome a slow start Friday night, and would eventually fall to the St. Mary's University Rattlers on the road.  

St. Mary's started the game on fire offensively and quickly had a nine point lead over the Mustangs. Western would answer back and the two teams would trade baskets throughout the half, but the Rattlers would use their edge on the offensive boards to take a 41-29 lead into halftime.

The second half was more one sided as St. Mary's continued their hot shooting. In the end, the offensive output by the Rattlers was too much for Western to keep up with, as they fell on the road 91-56.

Davis Wade (Jackson, MS/Will C Wood) lead the Mustangs with 11 points, going 2-2 from 3Pt and 5-5 from the free throw line.

The Mustangs continue their road trip Monday night against St. Edward's University in Austin, TX before returning home.
