Biography
WNMU (2017-18): McCray was selected to the Lone Star Conference All-Conference Team for the 2017-18 season.
WNMU (2016-17): McCray led the Mustangs in assists with 69 and steals with 30 during his sophomore season. He was second on the team in scoring at 11.5 per game and added 3.1 rebounds. He went for a season-high 22 points against West Texas A&M in which he made 12 free throws. He had 17 games scoring in double-digits and had a high in rebounds with six (twice) against Cameron and Angelo State. McCray went for a high in steals with three against Midwestern State and dished out six assists twice versus Eastern New Mexico and Cameron. He connected on seven field goals against Midwestern State as he started all 26 games.
WNMU (2015-16): McCray did everything and more from a true freshman, as he instantly became one of the top players not only on the team, but in the conference with the numbers he put up night in and night out. He led the team in points per game (11.0), steals (34), free throws (94), while playing in all 27 games, starting 16. He was second on the team in assists with 43 and third in field goals with 89. He nearly set the school record since moving to Division II (1992-93) for points in a game when he went off for 39 against Northern New Mexico. In that game he made 10-18 from the field, along with four steals and three rebounds. He connected on 3-4 from deep and made 16 free throws. McCray posted 14 double-digit games and went for at least 20 three times. He snagged four steals in a game twice against Northern New Mexico and UC-Colorado Springs. He tallied a season-best eight rebounds versus New Mexico Highlands.
High School: McCray played for Westwind Prep Academy this past year out of Phoenix and prior to that he played high school basketball in Clovis. The 6-foot-1, 160 pound point guard averaged 13 points and 5.2 assists per game playing for Westwind Prep Academy this past season. During his high school playing career at Clovis he compiled some top numbers including 21.1 points and five assists per game where he was named to the First-Team All-District 5A his senior year. He also added a tournament honor being selected to the All-Tournament Southwest Dairy Farmers Classic.
