Biography
WNMU (2016-17): Enriquez had a strong sophomore season with the Mustangs as he led the team in scoring at 12.4 points per game. He made 87 field goals, making 31 percent from the floor, along with a second-best 33 three-pointers made, 4.3 rebounds per contest, 37 assists (second-most on the team), four blocks and 21 steals. He posted a career-high 25 points in the season-opener against Oklahoma Panhandle State when he went off for 25 points, making 58 percent from the field. He had four games scoring over 20 points and 17 games with at least 10 points. He pulled down a high in rebounds with 12 against Angelo State to end the season with a double-double as he also scored 10 points. Enriquez collected three steals in a game twice and dished out six assists against OPSU.
WNMU (2015-16): In his first season with the Mustangs, Enriquez as a true freshman had a strong campaign piling up 7.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game, in addition to 12 steals, 25 assists, 64 free throws, 27 three-pointers and 56 field goals in playing in all 27 games, starting four. Enriquez went for a season-high 15 points twice against New Mexico Highlands and Fort Lewis. He scored double-digits in 11 games. He grabbed six rebounds against Colorado Christian.
High School: If the name Enriquez sounds familiar to those at WNMU who have watched basketball over the years would remember former standout and current assistant coach Matt Enriquez. His brother, Jordan, will follow Matt from Bel Air to Silver City and play for the Mustangs. He brings staggering accolades to WNMU. The 6-foot-3, 170 pound shooting guard was the leading scorer averaging 18.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and shot 42 percent from three-point range on a team that went 32-1 and ranked fourth in class 5A in the state of Texas. That is just the start of the top numbers for Enriquez. He was named MVP of a pair of tournaments (Fabens ISD and Bryan Johnston Holiday Classic), All-Tournament Team at the McDonald's Tournament, District 2-5A MVP, All-City First-Team, TABC 5A Region First-Team and TABC Academic All-State.
