Sweeping the doubles competition against St. Cloud State, but not quite as easily as they had hoped, the Mustangs prevailed, 5-0, to head to Alamonte Springs, Florida for the championship round for the NCAA Division II title.

The WNMU no. 1 and 2 doubles finished their doubles match fairly quickly with 8-3 and 8-4 victories. It was No. 3 doubles that had the fight. Partners Rodrigo Almeida (Arapongas, Brazil, Nene Lourenco High School) and Jean Benoit Belin (Nimes, France, Emmanuel d'Alzon High School, Staps University (France)) faced Matt Sturgeon and Elliot O'Neal. The pairs battled to the final point with WNMU coming out on top, 9-7.

Henning Thrien (Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Carl Friedrick Gaus Gymnasium, Hope International University) and Almeida then recorded the final two points in the clinch match.
