Silver City, NM – The Mustangs wrapped up their first game at home against the St. Mary's Rattlers
The afternoon saw the Mustangs fight the St. Mary's Rattlers, which concluded with the Mustangs falling 1-4.
The afternoon kicked off with the Mustangs pairing up to fight in doubles, with the duo of
Christopher Lund-Kuhl (Vaerloese, Denmark/Kruses Gymnasium) and
Djamel-Dine Bey (Paris, France/National Centre for Distance Education (Online)) exiting the court, first falling 4-6.
Benjamin Vriends (Mierlo, Netherlands/Sint Joriscollege) and
David Guta (Bucharest, Romania/Liceul Teoretic C.A. Rosetti (Romania)) were the second duo to exit, taking the victory for them, 6-3.
Jack Semper (Hackney, London, UK/Stoke Newington School) and
Yannik Rogulski (Madunice, Slovakia/Archbishop's High School of Bishop P. Jantausch) were the last duo to leave, claiming victory with 7-6(7-3).
The Mustangs then competed in singles, where the first Mustang to exit the court was Vriends, dropping the match 0-6, 1-6. Bey exited the court second, falling 4-6, 3-6. Lund-Kuhl exited third, conceding the game 6-7(7-9), 4-6. Semper left the court fourth, after taking the game to a tiebreaker where he eventually fell 6-3, 3-6, 2-6. Rogulski later left the court with the match being left unfinished 3-6, 6-3, 4-5. The final match from Guta was also left unfinished after 7-6(7-3), 2-6, 2-5, concluding the singles round.
This concluded the first home game for the Mustangs with a final score of 1-4.
The Mustangs will continue their matchup against the Rattlers tomorrow, where they will meet up again at the WNMU Tennis Courts tomorrow at 02:00 PM.
