Silver City, NM – Mustangs complete their second homestand breezing past the UT Dallas Comets.
The afternoon concluded with the Mustangs fighting a difficult battle and eventually coming out with a clean sweep.
The afternoon saw the Mustangs pairing up for doubles with the first duo to exit court being Christopher Lund-Khul and
Djamel-Dine Bey (Paris, France/National Centre for Distance Education (Online)) exiting the court with the first victory of the afternoon with a 6-1.
Benjamin Vriends (Mierlo, Netherlands/Sint Joriscollege) and
David Guta (Bucharest, Romania/Liceul Teoretic C.A. Rosetti (Romania)) followed suit and were the second to exit the court with a 6-0 win. The last duo to exit the court was
Jack Semper (Hackney, London, UK/Stoke Newington School) and
Yannik Rogulski (Madunice, Slovakia/Archbishop's High School of Bishop P. Jantausch) also took with them the victory with 6-4.
The single matches followed afterwards, with Rogulski exiting the court first with 6-0, 6-0 win.
Jack Semper (Hackney, London, UK/Stoke Newington School) was the second to exit the court keeping momentum with a 6-1, 6-1 win.
David Guta (Bucharest, Romania/Liceul Teoretic C.A. Rosetti (Romania)) followed suit and was third to exit the court taking with him a 6-0, 6-3 win. Bey was fourth to leave the court after claiming another win for the Mustangs with a 6-1, 6-3. Lund-Kuhl left the court fifth clearing it with a 7-5, 6-3 victory. The last Mustang to exit the court was Vriends,who fought a hard fight, but fell 6-3, 5-7, 7-10.
This concluded the afternoon with a win of 6-1.
The Mustangs will continue their homestand, taking on the University of Texas at Tyler Patriots tomorrow at the WNMU Tennis Courts.
