Byrd had a huge game against Fort Lewis, as he led the team in receiving pulling down 10 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. In addition, he racked up over 100 yards in the return game, going for 115 yards and a score in four punt returns. Byrd returned one punt 70 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter and he caught his TD pass late in the third quarter on a 45-yard strike from Mitch Glasmann.
