Verrill had a big start to the season as she was named to the Point Loma Seaside Invitational All-Tournament Team after she led the team with 50 kills in the four matches, averaging 3.57 kills per set and hit .443. She also added 11 digs and 10 blocks, with one coming solo. She went for double-digits in kills in three of four matches, going for a high of 16 in a 3-1 win against Chadron State when she hit .652. She even topped that number ripping off a .706 hitting clip later that day in a sweep against Point Loma as she recorded 13 kills. Verrill contributed points all over the court to help pace the Lady Mustangs as she collected 55.5 points in the four matches, going for a high of 18.5 against Chadron State. She added a 14.5 effort against Cal Baptist and a 13.0 mark versus Point Loma. She closed the week with eight kills and a block against Concordia Irvine. Her totals for the five matches includes 58 kills, 3.41 per set, .366 hitting percentage, 11 digs, 11 blocks and 64 total points.
