Box Score Biola, CA – The Mustangs Men's tennis team concluded their visit to California with their final visit to Biola to challenge the Biola University Eagles.
The morning concluded with the Mustangs taking on the Eagles, but they fell short, 5-2.
The morning started with the Mustangs pairing up for doubles matches with
Yannik Rogulski (Madunice, Slovakia/Archbishop's High School of Bishop P. Jantausch) and
Christopher Lund-Kuhl (Vaerloese, Denmark/Kruses Gymnasium) leaving the court first, falling 2-6. The second duo exiting the court was
Mael Houee (Rennes, France/Lycee Saint Martin (France)) and
Jack Semper (Hackney, London, UK/Stoke Newington School), whose set ended with a 2-6 loss. The last duo was
Benjamin Vriends (Mierlo, Netherlands/Sint Joriscollege) and
David Guta (Bucharest, Romania/Liceul Teoretic C.A. Rosetti (Romania)), whose match was left unfinished after a 4-4.
The singles started afterward, where Semper was the first to leave the court 3-6, 3-6. Houee left the court second, dropping the match 3-6, 3-6. Vriends picked up the momentum, afterwards, leaving the court third, after taking the match to a tiebreaker and eventually claiming victory with 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. Rogulski continued this momentum, leaving the court fourth after claiming victory in the tie breaker with 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Lund-Kuhl exited the court fifth, his set concluding in a fall 4-6, 3-6. The last Mustang to exit the court was
Djamel-Dine Bey (Paris, France/National Centre for Distance Education (Online)), who took the match to a tiebreaker but fell 4-6, 6-3, 8-10.
This concluded the Mustangs' visit to California, with the final score 2-5.
The Mustangs will continue their season, where they will travel to Alpine, TX, to face the Sul Ross Lobos on the 21
st of March.
