Box Score Azusa, CA – The Mustangs complete their second day at Azusa against Hawaii Pacific in both doubles and singles.
The Mustangs battled the Hawaii Pacific Sharks in the afternoon but fell short, with a final score of 0-4.
The afternoon started with the Mustangs pairing up for doubles matches. With the duo of
Benjamin Vriends (Mierlo, Netherlands/Sint Joriscollege) and
David Guta (Bucharest, Romania/Liceul Teoretic C.A. Rosetti (Romania)) leaving the court first, where they fell 4-6. The second duo to exit the court was
Mael Houee (Rennes, France/Lycee Saint Martin (France)) and
Jack Semper (Hackney, London, UK/Stoke Newington School), whose fight fell short 4-6. The last duo to exit the court was
Yannik Rogulski (Madunice, Slovakia/Archbishop's High School of Bishop P. Jantausch) and
Djamel-Dine Bey (Paris, France/National Centre for Distance Education (Online)), whose match was left unfinished.
The Mustangs then took on the Sharks in singles, where Semper was the first to exit the court, falling 2-6, 1-6. The second exit was Rogulski dropping the game after a hard fight with 2-6, 5-7. Houee's set concluded after, with him falling 4-6, 3-6. Vriends was fourth to leave the court, where he took the first set to a tiebreaker but fell, 6-7 (10-12), 3-5. Guta fought hard in the fifth set, but the match was left unfinished, 1-6, 6-4, 2-2. Bey was the last Mustang to exit the court 4-6, 6-2, 1-0, with the match left unfinished.
This concludes the afternoon of the second day of the Mustangs' visit to Azusa with a final score of 0-4.
The Mustangs will continue the third and final day of their visit tomorrow, the 13
th, against Biola University.
