Box Score 2 Portales, N.M. – The Mustangs continue their 2025 season on the road, playing a quick rematch with the same Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds of last weekend! Game one was a heavily defensive game, with only 5 runs being scored between both teams. The Mustangs battled but came up short 4-1 in game one. In game two, the Mustangs came out hot at the plate, finishing the game with multiple big hits! They would go on to win the game 17-13 and split the series behind enemy lines.
Game One: Western New Mexico vs. Eastern New Mexico 1-4
Starting on the mound for the Western,
Labraida Tenorio pitched a complete game, throwing 90 pitches and facing 27 batters. Tenorio would finish off game one with 5 strikeouts and only allow 8 hits and 1 walk!
Offensively, WNMU had a total of 27 at-bats. The Mustangs had 6 hits overall, struggling to get out of the batter's box. The Mustangs would eventually bring in a run in the 7
th inning, but it was too little, too late. The Greyhounds take the first game of the day, 4-1.

Game Two: Western New Mexico vs. Eastern New Mexico 17-13
Starting on the mound for the Mustangs in game two,
Haiven Schoolcraft (Carlsbad, NM/Carlsbad High School) faced 9 batters and threw 42 pitches with one strikeout, before
Kiya Hamar (Forest Ranch, CA/Pleasant Valley High School) would come in to relieve her, throwing 23 pitches and facing 6 batters.
Alixe De Anda (Queen Creek, AZ/Red Mountain High School) would be the next pitcher to don the circle, throwing 55 pitches and facing 15 batters. Lastly,
Madison Kloepper (Llano, TX/Llano High School) would take the mound for the remainder of the game, facing 15 batters and throwing 74 pitches and coming away with 3 strikeouts!
Offensively, WNMU had a total of 40 at-bats and 18 hits! That includes, one home-run, four doubles and one triple with 14 RBIs. The Mustangs only struck out 5 times the entire game! At the end of the day, the Mustangs brought in a total of 17 runs, while Eastern's Greyhounds could only manage 13. This gave the Mustangs the win and the split series on the road!

The Mustangs will be hitting the road once more to face-off with the West Texas A&M University Buffaloes Friday, April 11, 2025 in Canyon, Texas. The games are scheduled for 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM MT and can be viewed on FloCollege!
