Silver City, New Mexico—The Western New Mexico University Women's Tennis team continued its 2025 Spring Season by traveling back home to Silver City. In a match against the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas, the Mustangs lost 4-1.

In doubles, the first pairing of
Ana Sofia Montero Villegas (Caracas, Venezuela/Colegio San Martin de Porres) and
Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) lost to G. Tocci and M. Turolo, 4-6.
Andreea Arnautu (Laval, Quebec, Canada/College Laval) and
Lucia Carmena (Alcala de Henares, Spain/Cet Alcala) took the number two slot for doubles and won over K. Blount and L. Jokanovic, 7-5. For the final doubles pairing, the Mustangs and Javelinas had to forfeit due to insufficient girls on the team. Coaches and referees agreed that no point would be given if doubles went 1-1.
For singles, playing No. 1 today was
Andreea Arnautu (Laval, Quebec, Canada/College Laval), who lost to L. Jokanovic, 1-6 and 1-6. Penciled in at No. 2 was
Ana Sofia Montero Villegas (Caracas, Venezuela/Colegio San Martin de Porres), before losing against G. Tocci, 2-6 and 3-6.
Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) played No. 3 for the Mustangs today, as she was not able to win her match against M. Turolo, 1-6 and 4-6.
Lucia Carmena (Alcala de Henares, Spain/Cet Alcala) was slotted for No. 4 today, taking E. Broden and winning, 6-3 and 6-3. Due to insufficient girls, the Mustangs had to forfeit match 5 to the Javelinas, while both teams forfeited match 6.

Doubles: 1, 2
Singles: 1, 3, 2, 4
The Mustangs will stay home to Silver City, New Mexico to play against Angelo State University Rambelles. The match is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10 a.m. MST.
