Silver City, NM - The Western New Mexico University Women's Tennis team continued its 2025 Spring Season staying home to Silver City, New Mexico. In a match-up against Midwestern State, the Mustangs lose 0-7.

In doubles, the first pairing of
Ana Sofia Montero Villegas (Caracas, Venezuela/Colegio San Martin de Porres) and
Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) lost to J. Binzari and A. Ghinga, 3-6.
Andreea Arnautu (Laval, Quebec, Canada/College Laval) and
Lucia Carmena (Alcala de Henares, Spain/Cet Alcala) took the number two slot for doubles and lost to C. Garcia and H. Yip, 3-6. For the final doubles pairing, the Mustangs had to forfeit due to insufficient girls on the team.
For singles, playing No. 1 today was
Andreea Arnautu (Laval, Quebec, Canada/College Laval) who lost to J. Binzari, 4-6 and 1-6. Penciled in at No. 2 was
Ana Sofia Montero Villegas (Caracas, Venezuela/Colegio San Martin de Porres), before losing to H. Yip, 3-6 and 2-6.
Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) played No. 3 for the Mustangs today, as she was not able to win her match against A. Ghinga, 2-6 and 0-6.
Lucia Carmena (Alcala de Henares, Spain/Cet Alcala) was slotted for No. 4 today, taking S. Giraldo to a two-set match and losing, 1-6 and 03. Due to insufficient girls, the Mustangs had to forfeit matches 5 and 6 to the MSU Mustangs.

Doubles: 1, 2, 3
Singles: 3, 2, 1, 4, 5, 6
The Mustangs will travel to Lubbock, Texas to play against Lubbock Christian University. The match is scheduled for Friday, April 18, 2025, at 9 a.m. MST.
