Silver City, New Mexico - The Western New Mexico University Women's Tennis team continued its 2025 Spring Season by traveling to Dallas, Texas. Their first match-up against Southern Arkansas University for the weekend. The Mustangs lost to the Muleriders, 0-4 with three unfinished matches.

In doubles, the No. 1 spot,
Andreea Arnautu (Laval, Quebec, Canada/College Laval), and
Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) were defeated by A. Gindl and M. Fiacan, 2-6. At No. 2
Ana Sofia Montero Villegas (Caracas, Venezuela/Colegio San Martin de Porres) and
Manon Baudet (Lyon, France/TC Trevoux) were beaten by R. Kokocha and I. Serpukhova, 4-6. No. 3 pairing of
Jenna Kastell (Bonn, Germany/TC Rot-Weiß Troisdorf) and
Gabriella Blumberg (Casper, WY/Kelly Walsh High School) would lose their match against H. Yoshimura and C. Corrales 2-6
As for singles, playing No. 1 today was
Andreea Arnautu (Laval, Quebec, Canada/College Laval) as she was taken down by A. Gindl in two sets, 0-6 and 3-6. Penciled in at No. 2 was
Ana Sofia Montero Villegas (Caracas, Venezuela/Colegio San Martin de Porres), before getting beaten down by M. Fiacan in two sets, 1-6 and 1-6.
Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) played No. 3 for the Mustangs today, as she was not able to win her match against I. Kafka, 7-6 with a tiebreak of 7-4 and 2-6.
Gabriella Blumberg (Casper, WY/Kelly Walsh High School) was slotted for No. 4 today, taking C. Corrales to an unfinished match. No. 5,
Jenna Kastell (Bonn, Germany/TC Rot-Weiß Troisdorf) rounded out today's lineup with another unfinished match against H. Yoshimura. In the final spot penciled at No. 6,
Manon Baudet (Lyon, France/TC Trevoux) also had an unfinished match against I. Serpukhova.

Singles: 2, 1, 3
The Mustangs will stay in Dallas, Texas to play against McKendree University and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The match is scheduled for Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 9 a.m. & 1 p.m. MT.
