Mustangs Unrewarded for Stellar Performance Against #4 ASU Rams

San Angelo, TX – The Mustangs continue their 2025 season traveling to San Angelo, Texas. Facing off against the Angelo State Rams, the Mustangs would go on to drop both games. In the first game, the Mustangs struggled to put points on the board, losing after 7 innings, 6-0. In the second game, the Mustangs took a late lead, due to two home runs in the fifth inning, but could not hold on till the end. The Rams would come back in the bottom of the seventh to take the game in a walk-off, 5-6. All told, the Mustangs gave the #4 ranked team in Division 2 a real run for their money today.

Game One: Western New Mexico vs. Angelo State 0-6
Starting on the mound for the Mustangs, Labraida Tenorio (Rio Rancho, NM/Rio Rancho High School) who pitched three innings, facing 15 batters. She earned two strikeouts and threw 68 pitches. Coming in to help the Mustangs, Madison Kloepper (Llano, TX/Llano High School) pitched three innings, facing 12 batters, and throwing 42 pitches. Offensively, the Mustangs had a total of 22 at-bats. The Mustangs struggled at the plate. They earned two hits as a team.
