Los Angeles, California - The Western New Mexico University Women's Tennis team continued its 2025 Spring Season by traveling to Los Angeles, California. Their first match-up against Concordia University Irvine for the week. Delayed by the rainy weather, the Mustangs lost to CUI, 1-6.

In doubles, the No. 1 spot,
Andreea Arnautu (Laval, Quebec, Canada/College Laval), and
Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) were defeated by S. Rachor and B. Johnson, 1-6. At No. 2,
Ana Sofia Montero Villegas (Caracas, Venezuela/Colegio San Martin de Porres) and
Manon Baudet (Lyon, France/TC Trevoux) were bested by C. Houkes and K. Dvorakova, 1-6. The No. 3 pairing of
Gabriella Blumberg (Casper, WY/Kelly Walsh High School) and
Jenna Kastell (Bonn, Germany/TC Rot-Weiß Troisdorf) would not finish their match with CUI's P. Starnecker and J. Jolin.
For singles, playing No. 1 today was
Andreea Arnautu (Laval, Quebec, Canada/College Laval) as she was taken down by S. Rachor in two sets, 2-6 and 6-7 with a tiebreaker of 7-3. Penciled in at No. 2 was
Ana Sofia Montero Villegas (Caracas, Venezuela/Colegio San Martin de Porres), before getting beaten down by B. Johnson in two sets, 0-6 and 0-6.
Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) played No. 3 for the Mustangs today, as she was not able to win her match against A. De Re, 3-6 and 0-6.
Gabriella Blumberg (Casper, WY/Kelly Walsh High School) was slotted for No. 4 today, taking P. Starnecker to a two-set match and lost 0-6 and 2-6. No. 5,
Jenna Kastell (Bonn, Germany/TC Rot-Weiß Troisdorf) rounded out today's lineup with a match against C. Houkes, losing 0-6 and 0-6. In the final spot penciled at No. 6,
Manon Baudet (Lyon, France/TC Trevoux) took J. Jolin to two sets, winning the match 6-3 and 6-4.

The Mustangs will stay in Los Angeles, California to play against Azusa Pacific. The match is scheduled for Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 3 p.m. MT/2 p.m. PT.
