Austin, Texas – The Mustangs continue their 2025 season traveling to Austin, Texas. Facing off against the St. Edward's University Hilltoppers, the Mustangs lost in 5 innings both games due to the 5
th inning 8-run rule. The first game finished 11-2, and the second ended with a score of 10-1.
Game One: Western New Mexico vs. St. Edward's University 2-11
Starting on the mound for the Mustangs,
Labraida Tenorio (Rio Rancho, NM/Rio Rancho High School) who pitched a total of three innings, facing 15 batters. She earned two strikeouts and threw 54 pitches. Coming in to help the Mustangs,
Madison Kloepper (Llano, TX/Llano High School) pitched one inning facing seven batters. In total, she threw 27 pitches. Ending the game,
Haiven Schoolcraft (Carlsbad, NM/Carlsbad High School) threw one inning for the Mustangs. She faced six batters and threw 27 pitches against the Hilltoppers. Offensively, the Mustangs had a total of 19 at-bats. Even though the Mustangs earned only two runs, they earned four hits as a team.

Alixe De Anda (Queen Creek, AZ/Red Mountain High School) made an appearance, for a little more than two innings, facing 18 batters with 55 pitches and one strikeout. Offensively, the Mustangs had a total of 17 at-bats. They earned one run from
Abbi Markus (Sun City, AZ/Liberty High School), who had a solo homerun in the fourth.
