Flagstaff, Arizona - The Western New Mexico University Men's Tennis team continued its 2025 Spring Season with a match-up against the Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks. Western New Mexico Mustangs lost to the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks 1-6.
 
In doubles, the No. 1 spot, Javier Romero (Tlalnepantla, Mexico/ETAC) and Mael Houee (Rennes, France/Tennis Club de Bruz), were defeated by Jakub Prachar and Jakub Volesky, 3-6. At No. 2, Romain Malhomme (Marseille, France/CNED) and Alexandre Frigout (/Ozanam/ Saint Jean) were bested by Dani Torres and Takumi Katsuda, 3-6. The last double for the Mustangs was Birk Arwedahl (Karlskrona, Sweden/AF Chapman) and Quentin Duvinage (Rasheim, France/Lycée Freppel) by Mati Lange and Semen Agynskyy, 2-6

As for singles, playing No. 1 today was Javier Romero (Tlalnepantla, Mexico/ETAC), as he was taken down by Jakub Prachar in two sets, 0-6 and 2-6. Penciled in at No. 2 was Romain Malhomme (Marseille, France/CNED), before falling to the racket of Piotr Galus, 2-6 and 1-6.

Alexandre Frigout (/Ozanam/ Saint Jean) played No. 3 for the Mustangs today as he could not find his groove before losing 0-6 and 2-6 to Semen Agynskyy. No. 4 today, taking Jakub Volesky to two sets, Birk Arwedahl (Karlskrona, Sweden/AF Chapman) lost 0-6 and 1-6. No. 5 Mael Houee (Rennes, France/Tennis Club de Bruz) took his opponent, Mati Lange, to three sets before winning, 7-5, 0-6, and 10-7. Last for the Mustangs, Titouan Rebois (Boulogne Billancourt, France/Notre Dame de Boulogne) lost his match to Ivan Perisic, 2-6 and 1-6.

The Mustangs will soon travel back home for a match up against Seward County Community. The first match is scheduled for 12 p.m. MT.
