Los Lunas, New Mexico – The Mustangs continue their 2025 season with day two of the South Central Regional Crossover hosted by WNMU in Los Lunas, NM. In today's matchups, WNMU went up against the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs and Simon Fraser University. Against UCCS, the Mustangs lost 6-7 and came back to win against Simon Fraser 7-6.
Game One: Western New Mexico vs. University of Colorado – Colorado Springs 6-7
Starting on the mound for the Mustangs, Sophia Solano (Tucson, AZ/Sahuaro High School) pitched a total of 3.2 innings with a total of 53 pitches, facing 15 batters. Madison Kloepper (Llano, TX/Llano High School) will come in during the fourth inning and face 15 batters with 48 pitches and two strikeouts. Starting on the mound for the Mustangs in game two, Alixe De Anda (Queen Creek, AZ/Red Mountain High School) pitched 0.2 innings. She faces 3 batters with a total of 53 pitches. She earned two strikeouts for the Mustangs. Coming in to relieve her, Labraida Tenorio (Rio Rancho, NM/Rio Rancho High School) pitched 3.2 innings facing 19 batters and throwing 52 pitches. She earned one strikeout during her time on the mound.
Offensively, the Mustangs had a total of 25 at-bats. They earned seven runs with Hannah Martinez (Carlsbad, NM/Carlsbad High School) and Abbi Markus (Sun City, AZ/Liberty High School) crossing the plate twice each.
