WINTER GARDEN, Flor. - The Western New Mexico University finished up the 2024 Spring Season at the Division II National Championship at Orange County National Golf Center in Winter Garden, Flor. This was the final tournament for Mustang Seniors
Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS) and
Adam Niles (Kamloops, BC/Valley View Secondary HS), as well as legendary Coach
Kent Beatty. The Mustangs would finish 15th at (+16), 288-286-294-868.
Niles lead the way for the Mustangs, T-29th at (+1), 71-70-73-214, with 10 birdies and an eagle.
Tomas Ribeiro (Porto Seguro, BR/Evolução Centro HS) is the next Mustang, T-37th at (+3), 71-70-75-216 and 12 birdies. T-60th is
Arnav Arkanath (Milton Keynes, GB/Sir Henry Floyd HS) at (+6), 71-73-75-219. Arkanath sunk nine birdies and an eagle.
Geary finished T-70th at (+8), 77-73-71-221. Geary managed eight birdies.
Max Kaesebier (Bad Langensalza, Germany/Pierre-de-Coubertin Gymnasium) rounds it out T-102nd at (+19), 75-81-76-232. Kaesebier had six birdies.
The top eight teams, West Florida, Oklahoma Christian, Central Oklahoma, Coker University, North Georgia, Colorado Christian, Wingate University and West Texas A&M, will all advance to match play tomorrow morning.Â
The individual title was taken by Wyatt Provence (WTA&M) at (-12).
