Box Score SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Western New Mexico University Women's Tennis team finished up their 2023 road season with match against the 13
th ranked Rambelles of Angelo State. The Mustangs would go down 0-7 in this one.
In doubles, No. 1 pairing of
Livia Leite (Cunha-SP, Brazil/Bernardino Querido,) and
Ana Sofia Montero Villegas (Caracas, Venezuela) took on the 19
th ranked doubles team, Eva Schwartz and Avery Durham. Leitie and Montero were defeated 2-6. No. 2 duo of
Mann-Ning Li (Converse, TX/John H. Guyer HS) and
Andreea Arnautu (Laval, Quebec, Canada/College Laval) were bested 1-6 by Ayda Guler and Letizia Corsini. At No. 3 today was
Gabriella Blumberg (Casper, WY/Kelly Walsh HS) and
Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School), falling to Mieke Van Deventer and Alexan Vishnevskaya 1-6.
As for today's singles, No. 1 Leite played the 8
th ranked singles player in Corsini. Leite would battle hard be for going down 3-6, 0-6. At the No. 2 spot today was Li, taking on the 59
th ranked player in Division II, Schwartz. Li was nearly able to pull off the upset on Schwartz before falling 3-6, 5(5)-6(7).
Penciled at No. 3 today was Wang, losing to the racket of Jessica Li 1-6, 2-6. No. 4 Arnautu received the draw of Christine Jevicky, as she lost 0-6, 0-6.
Monteron played No. 5 for the Mustangs today against the Rambelles's Guler, as she was defeated 1-6, 0-6. Blumberg rounded out the Mustangs lineup at No. 6, losing a heated match 4-6, 2-6 to Vishnevskaya.

Doubles – 2, 3, 1
Singles – 1, 5, 4, 6, 3, 2
The Mustangs will return to Silver City for their final match of the season against St. Mary's on April 19
th (10:00 AM MT). They will be honoring seniors
