Box Score LAWTON, Okla. - The Western New Mexico University Men's Tennis team took part in a Lone Star Conference match up with the Aggies of Cameron. WNMU would be defeated 1-6.
In doubles, the Mustangs' No. 1 pair of
Brendan Lock (Cheyenne, Wyoming/Cheyenne South HS) and
Alexandre Frigout (/Ozanam/ St Jean) lost a close battle 3-6 to Alexandre Post and Iban Martin-Legay. At the No. 2 spot,
Lorenzo Orellano Buratti (Acassuso, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Anibal Mensi) and
Javier Romero (Tlalnepantla, Mexico/ETAC) were taken down by Louis Boilevin and Guilherme Cruz 0-6. The Aggies would win the doubles point.
As for singles, No. 5
Mohjit Grewal (Witten, Germany) would earn the only Mustang point on the day with a thrilling 7-5, 6-1 win over Martin-Legay.Â
In the slot, No. 1 Romero dropped a barn burner to Boilevin 2-6, 6-4, 10-1. At No. 2 Frigout was bested by Martin Hlavacek 0-6, 1-6.Â
Lock played No. 3 today for the Mustangs, falling 3-6, 2-6 to Post. Penciled in at No. 4 today was Orellano, dropping his match 2-6, 4-6 to Rhys Edwards.
The Mustangs will be back home on April 5th for a match up against the Mustangs of Midwestern State.
