DURANT, Okla. - The Western New Mexico University Women's Tennis team continued their three-game road trip with a match up against the #30 ranked team in the nation, Southeastern Oklahoma State. The Savage Storm would get the best of the Mustangs, 0-7.
In doubles, the No. 1 spot of
Livia Leite (Cunha-SP, Brazil/Bernardino Querido,) and
Ana Sofia Montero Villegas (Caracas, Venezuela) were defeated by Sara Gonzalez and Georgia Hosking, 2-6. At No. 2
Mann-Ning Li (Converse, TX/John H. Guyer HS) and
Gabriella Blumberg (Casper, WY/Kelly Walsh HS), were bested by Larissa Giraldi and Chiara Matteodo, 2-6. No. 3 pairing of
Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) and
Andreea Arnautu (Laval, Quebec, Canada/College Laval) would also drop their match 1-6 to the Savage Storm's Amishi Shukla and Milana Voloshyn.
As for singles, playing No. 1 today was
Livia Leite (Cunha-SP, Brazil/Bernardino Querido,), as she was taken down in three sets by Vaness Nitu 4-6, 6-1, 0-6. Penciled in at No. 2 was Li, before falling to the racket of Hosking 2-6, 2-6.
Arnautu played No. 3 for the Mustangs today, as she was unable to find her groove before losing 1-6, 1-6 to Giraldi. Montero was slotted for No. 4 today, taking Matteodo to three sets before being beaten 6-4, 4-6, 5-10. No. 5 Blumberg rounded out today's lineup, going down to Voloshyn 0-6, 3-6.

Singles: 3, 2, 1, 4, 5
The Mustangs will travel to Cameron University tomorrow to conclude their three-game road trip (9:00 AM MT).
