DURANT, Okla. - The Western New Mexico University Men's Tennis Team took on the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State on Friday morning. The Mustangs were defeated 2-5.
In doubles, the No. 1 duo of
Brendan Lock (Cheyenne, Wyoming/Cheyenne South HS) and
Alexandre Frigout (/Ozanam/ St Jean) were bested 2-6 by the Savage Storm's Marin Jurkovic and Stipan Madzar. At the No. 2 spot
Lorenzo Orellano Buratti (Acassuso, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Anibal Mensi) and
Javier Romero (Tlalnepantla, Mexico/ETAC) fell 1-6 to Luis Ching and Gen Naraya.
As for singles, No.1 Romero was able to outlast his opponent, Madzar 6-2, 7(7)-6(4) for the win. No. 5
Mohjit Grewal (Witten, Germany) would also be victorious on the day with a dazzling three-set win over Vinicius Outor 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
At No 2. Frigout fell to the racket of Naraya 3-6, 2-6. No. 3 Lock lost a heartbreaker in three sets via Luke Tinnock 6-2, 2-6, 1-6. Slotted in at No. 4 for the Mustangs today was Orellano, losing his match 1-6, 3-6 to Ching.

Doubles: 2, 1
Singles: 2, 1, 3, 4, 5
The Mustangs will travel to Cameron University tomorrow to take on the 50th ranked Aggies (9:00 AM MT).
