Box Score FORT SMITH, Ark. - The Western New Mexico University Women's Tennis team began a three-game road trip with the Lions of Arkansas Fort Smith on Thursday morning. The Mustangs lost a close one, 2-5.

In doubles, No. 1 pairing of Livia Leite (Cunha-SP, Brazil/Bernardino Querido,) and Ana Sofia Montero Villegas (Caracas, Venezuela) dropped a close one,  5-7 to Petra Cizmadia and Arianna De Bernardo. At No. 2 slot was Mann-Ning Li (Converse, TX/John H. Guyer HS) and Gabriella Blumberg (Casper, WY/Kelly Walsh HS), losing a tough battle, 3-6 to Taylor Conway and Camila Romero. The No. 3 duo of Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) and Andreea Arnautu (Laval, Quebec, Canada/College Laval) were defeated by Isabella Serrano and Antonietta Bocache, 2-6. This resulted in the Lions earning the doubles point.

As for the singles, No. 1 Leite would be victorious this morning with a victory over Cizmadia 6(6)-7(8), 1-6, 6-3. At the No. 4 spot, Montero would earn another point for the Mustangs, as she defeated Bocache 3-6, 6-4, 7-5. 

Li earned the No. 2 spot today, as she lost a heartbreaker, 7(7)-6(3) to De Bernardo. Penciled in at No. 3 was Arnautu, who fell to the racket of Romero 3-6, 0-6. No. 5 Blumberg was bested today by Conway 3-6, 2-6.

Doubles: 3, 2, 1
Singles: 3, 1, 2, 4, 5

The Mustangs will travel to Durant, Okla. for a match up with the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State tomorrow, March 29th at 9:00 AM MT.
