Box Score SILVER CITY, N.M. - The Western New Mexico University Men's Tennis team hosted the Dallas Baptist Patriots on Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs won a thriller, 4-3.
In doubles, No. 1 duo of
Alexandre Frigout (/Ozanam/ St Jean) and
Brendan Lock (Cheyenne, Wyoming/Cheyenne South HS) came alive late, but ultimately fell to Trevor Vaccaro and Arturo Langle 2-6. The No. 2 pairing of
Javier Romero (Tlalnepantla, Mexico/ETAC) and
Lorenzo Orellano Buratti (Acassuso, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Anibal Mensi) lost a heartbreaker to Fabian Rosales and Ricardo Carvajalino 6(2)-7(7).
As for singles, No. 1 Romero would get things go early with rocket-after-rocket coming from his racket, taking down Carvajalino 6-1, 6-3. No. 2 Frigout followed suit with a great finisher at the net for a 6-3, 6-1 win over Langle.
Penciled in at No. 3 today was Lock, who played some inspiring tennis, defeating Vaccaro 6-1, 6-2.
Mohjit Grewal (Witten, Germany), played No. 5 today for the Mustangs, as he jumped for joy after clinching the match 6-1, 6-3 against Alec Rule.
Slotted in at No. 4 was Orellano, as he was beaten 2-6, 5-7 by Rosales.

Doubles: 1, 2
Singles: 1, 3, 2, 4, 5
The Mustangs will be back in action of March 28th against Arkansas Fort-Smith (9:00 AM MT).
