DALLAS, Texas - The Western New Mexico University Men's Tennis team finished up their final match in Dallas, Texas on Saturday morning against Southeastern Oklahoma State. The Mustangs lost 4-1 to the Savage Storm.
In doubles, the No. 2 pairing of
Mohjit Grewal (Witten, Germany) and
Lorenzo Orellano Buratti (Acassuso, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Anibal Mensi) dropped their match 1-6. No. 3 doubles defaulted, resulting in the No. duo of
Brendan Lock (Cheyenne, Wyoming/Cheyenne South HS) and
Alexandre Frigout (/Ozanam/ St Jean) to go unfinished.
As for the Mustangs singles, No. 1 Frigout would get things started early with a three-set victory 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. This was the only Mustang point.
Playing No. 2 for the Mustangs was
Javier Romero (Tlalnepantla, Mexico/ETAC), losing his match 7-5, 2-6, 2-6. No. 6 Orellano was fall in his match as well, 1-6, 2-6. These two points would be enough for the Savage Storm to clinch the match.
No. 3 Lock and No. 5 Grewal's matches would go unfinished.
The Mustangs will be back in action next on March 12
th for a three-game road trip starting with Azusa Pacific.
