Box Score IRVINE, Calif.- The Western New Mexico University Men's Tennis team finished up a three-game road trip in Southern California with a match up against Concordia Irvine. The Golden Eagles defeated the Mustangs 7-0.
In doubles, the No.1 pairing of
Brendan Lock (Cheyenne, Wyoming/Cheyenne South HS) and
Alexandre Frigout (/Ozanam/ St Jean) lost to the Golden Eagles' Lemiel Tairahoy and Spencer Cinco 1-6. Â At No. 2
Lorenzo Orellano Buratti (Acassuso, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Anibal Mensi) and
Javier Romero (Tlalnepantla, Mexico/ETAC) fell 2-6 to Adam Kartzinel and Mario Aleksic, 2-6.Â
As for singles, No. 4 Orellano was the Mustang to falter, going down 0-6, 0-6 to Kartzinel. No. 3 Lock was defeated by the racket of Cinco, 2-6, 2-6. Frigout was slotted at No. 2 today for the Mustangs before dropping his match to Aleksic 2-6, 1-6.
Earning the No. 1 today was Romero, losing a tough battle 1-6, 5-7 to Mattis Le Montagier.
Mohjit Grewal (Witten, Germany) rounds out the Mustangs as the No. 5. Grewal fought hard to the end against Tairahoy before going down 0-6, 4-6.

The Mustangs will be back in action on Friday, March 22nd for their home opener against UT Tyler (9:00 AM MT).
