LA MIRADA, Calif. - The Western New Mexico University Women's Tennis team continued their 2024 spring break trip to Biola Tennis Complex for a match up with the Eagles of Biola. The Mustangs went down 0-7.

In doubles, No. 3 duo of Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) and Andreea Arnautu (Laval, Quebec, Canada/College Laval) were the first Mustang pair to fall, going down 1-6 to Kailee Mazzeo and Isabella Chavarria. No. 2 pairing of Mann-Ning Li (Converse, TX/John H. Guyer HS) and Gabriella Blumberg (Casper, WY/Kelly Walsh HS) would also lose 1-6 to the Eagles' Lilly McNeill and Emery Colbeyshae. No. 1s Livia Leite (Cunha-SP, Brazil/Bernardino Querido,) and Ana Sofia Montero Villegas (Caracas, Venezuela) would have their match go unfinished. 

As for singles, No. 1 Leite was bested by Colbeyshare 2-6, 0-6. Next up at No. 3 slot was Arnautu, falling at the hands of Alexandria Mann, 2-6, 0-6. Montero played No. 4 for the Mustangs. Her match finished 4-6, 4-6 in favor of her opponent Chavarria.

No. 2 was Li today, who lost a close battle to Mazzeo 4-6, 1-6. Blumberg, at No. 5 today lost a barn burner 4-6, 5-7 to Breanna Hiebert.

Doubles: 3, 2
Singles: 1, 3, 4, 2, 5

The Mustangs will be back in action at Concordia Irvine at 9:00 AM MT.
