LA MIRADA, Calif. - The Western New Mexico University Men's Tennis team traveled to La Mirada, Calif. to take on the Biola University Eagles. The Mustangs were defeated 1-6.
In doubles, No. 1 pairing of
Brendan Lock (Cheyenne, Wyoming/Cheyenne South HS) and
Alexandre Frigout (/Ozanam/ St Jean) took down the Eagles' Nico Ramirez and Adrian Solorzano 6-3. At No. 2,
Lorenzo Orellano Buratti (Acassuso, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Anibal Mensi) and
Javier Romero (Tlalnepantla, Mexico/ETAC) earned the Mustangs the doubles point with a thrilling 6-4 win over Callen Hein and Alessandro Cadena.
As for the singles, Frigout played. No. 1 for the Mustags, as he was defeated 1-6, 0-6 by Ramirez. No. 2 Romero was taken down by Solorzano 2-6, 2-6. In the three slot today is Lock taking his opponent to three sets before losing 2-6, 6-3, 5-10.
Buratti was No. 4 today, going down 1-6, 5-7 to Alejanedro Montverde.
Mohjit Grewal (Witten, Germany) took on the No. 5 role for the Mustangs losing a nail bitter to Thiago Canessa 2-6, 6-4, 7-10.

The Mustangs will be back in action against Concordia Irvine at 9:00 AM MT.
