Box Score AZUSA, Calif. - The Western New Mexico University Men's Tennis team traveled to Azusa, Calif. for a match-up against the Cougars of Azusa Pacific. The Mustangs lost this battle, 4-0.
In doubles, No. 1 pairing of
Alexandre Frigout (/Ozanam/ St Jean) and
Brendan Lock (Cheyenne, Wyoming/Cheyenne South HS) dropped their match to Eilas Walter and Miha Velickci 1-6. Tg=he No. 2 duo of
Javier Romero (Tlalnepantla, Mexico/ETAC) and
Mohjit Grewal (Witten, Germany) lost at the hands of Cole Rassner and Brody Bohren 2-6.
As for the Mustangs singles, No. 2 Romero was taken down 0-6, 0-6 by Walter. No. 4
Lorenzo Orellano Buratti (Acassuso, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Anibal Mensi) lost to the Cougars' Barth 0-6, 0-6 to give Azusa Pacific enough points to win.
No. 1 Frigout, No. 3 Lock, and No. 5 Grewal would have their matches go unfinished.
The Mustangs will be back in action against Biola University at 3:00 PM MT.
