ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Western New Mexico University Men's Tennis team traveled to Albuquerque, N.M. for a contest against the Tigers of Colorado College. The Mustangs won a thrilling match 4-3.
In doubles, the Mustangs No.2 pairing
Romain Malhomme (/CNED) and
Alexandre Frigout (/Ozanam/ St Jean) got thing started with a 6-4 victory over the Tigers' Nate Beerman and Nick Anderson. Playing at No. 1 was
Brendan Lock (Cheyenne, Wyoming/Cheyenne South HS) and
Mohjit Grewal (Witten, Germany) as they earned a victory over Andrew Kaelin and Aiden Little 6-4, giving the Mustangs the doubles point.
No. 3
Javier Romero (Tlalnepantla, Mexico/ETAC) and
Lorenzo Orellano Buratti (Acassuso, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Anibal Mensi) dropped their match to Jack Delafield and Chris Hudson 4-6.
The Mustangs would kick this off in singles with a dominate performance from No. 3 Romero, as he defeated Delafied 6-0, 6-3. No.4 Lock would follow suit with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Beerman. Clinching the game winning point for the Mustangs. Grewal was slotted in at No. 5. He managed to defeat Anderson 6-2, 7-6 (7-1).
Playing in No. 6 spot was Burrati, dropping his match to Hudson 4-6, 1-6. Frigout earned the No. 2 spot, losing his match to Little 4-6, 2-6. Malhomme rounds out the Mustangs' lineup today in No. 1 spot. He fell to Kaelin 2-6, 4-6.

Doubles - 3, 2, 1
Singles - 3, 6, 2, 1, 5, 4
The Mustangs will be back in action next weekend with matchups agaisnt Division One foes New Mexico and New Mexico State.
