Box Score 1 GLENDALE, AZ - The Western New Mexico Men's tennis team took to Glendale, Ari. today for two matches against Colorado-Mesa and Ottawa University (Ari.). The Mustangs would go 2-0 on the day, defeating Mesa 4-3 and Ottawa 4-0.

MATCH ONE (Colo. Mesa):
In doubles, the No. 1 pairing of Mohjit Grewal (Witten, Germany) and Brendan Lock (Cheyenne, Wyoming/Cheyenne South HS) were the first Mustangs to go down, 2-6 to the Mavericks Jorge Abreu and William Leschig. No. 2 Alexandre Frigout (/Ozanam/ St Jean) and Romain Malhomme (/CNED) were defeated 3-6 by Emil Hultiman and Philemon Jabin, giving the Mavericks the doubles point. Playing No. 3 was Javier Romero (Tlalnepantla, Mexico/ETAC) and Lorenzo Orellano Buratti (Acassuso, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Anibal Mensi), losing to Diogo Manazano and Henry Scheck 4-6.

As for singles, this is were the Mustangs took control of the match. No.1 Frigout would get it started with a win over of Jabin 6-2, 6-5. The next Mustang win came from No. 2 Malhomme, as he defeated Leschig 6-4, 6-1. No. 4 Lock would be next as he took down Scheck in thrilling fashion, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1. Clinching the match for the Mustangs was No. 5 Grewal, as he won a barn burner against Hultman 5-7, 6-3, 6-4.

Earning No. 3 today was Romero, as he was taken down 5-7, 6-7 (4-10) by Manzano. No. 6 Buratti fell to Abreu 5-7, 5-7.

Doubles: 1, 2, 3
Singles: 1, 2, 6, 4, 5, 3

MATCH TWO (Ottawa):
For doubles, the No. 3 duo of Romero and Burratti dominated Jace Flemming and Shane Ott, 6-0. Earning the doubles point was the No. 2 pairing of Frigout and Malhomme, as they won their match 6-2. No. 1 Lock and Grewal's match would go unfinished at 5-2.

In singles, No. 4 Lock kicked things off with a dominant performance against Fleming 6-1, 6-1. No. 3 Romero would suit, just as Lock, taking down Saul Bautista 6-1, 6-1. At the No. 1 spot, Frigout would clinch the match with a win over Carlos Robles 6-3, 6-1.

Malhomme, Buratti and Grewal's matches would go unfinished.

Singles: 4, 3, 1
