EL PASO, Texas - FORE! The Western New Mexico University Women's Golf team finished up round one of the RJGA Cactus Thaw! Hosted by Painted Dunes Golf Course. After day one the Mustang sit in first place at (+13), 301.
Sophomore
Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) came out soaring in this one as she leads the tournament at (-1), 71. Klemke has five birdies so far. Brooklyn Maes sits in second place at (+2), 74. Maes made three birdies today.
Senior leader
Taysea Powell (Artesia, NM/Artesia HS) is T-3rd at (+3), 75. Powell has three birdies as well.
Shandiin Harper (Farmington, NM/Piedra Vista HS) comes next at (+9), 81 earning her T-14th place. Harper recorded one birdie.
Rounding out the lineup is
Falyn Lackey (Hobbs, NM/Hobbs HS) T-20th at (+13), 85. Lackey has one birdie.
The Mustangs lead the tournament at (+13), 301. New Mexico Junior College sits in second place at (+22), 310. Rounding out the top three is Odessa at (+23), 311.
Klemke and Maes sit one and two in the individual standings. Hinano Kishida of NMJC ties Powell for third.
