ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Western New Mexico University Men's Tennis team traveled to Albuquerque, N.M. for and exhibition matchup against the Lobos of New Mexico. UNM took down WNMU 7-0.

In doubles, the Mustangs pair at No. 2 Alexandre Frigout (/Ozanam/ St Jean) and Romain Malhomme (/CNED) would drop their match 6-1 at the hands of Avery Tallakson and Ryoma Matsushita. Playing in the No. 3 spot was Javier Romero (Tlalnepantla, Mexico/ETAC) and Lorenzo Orellan Buratti, losing to Rafael Abdulsalam and Aram Noroozian 6-2. This earned rhe Lobos the doubles point.

No. 1 Brendan Lock (Cheyenne, Wyoming/Cheyenne South HS) and Mohjit Grewal (Witten, Germany) had their match go unfinished at 4-3 against Nicolas Recoura and Georgio Samaha.

The Mustangs would kick this off in singles with No. 6 Buratti being defeated by Matushita 6-0, 6-0. Frigout playing at No. 2 was the next Mustang to go down 6-1, 6-0 at the hands of Arthur Bellegy. No.1 Malhomme dropped him match to Arda Azkara 6-1, 6-1 to give the Lobos the decisive point.

Romero, earning No. 4 for the Mustangs lost a hard found match to Abdulsalams 6-2, 7-5. Grewal played the No. 5 spot for WNMU. He won the only set for the Mustags, falling to Alex Maggs 6-2, 2-6, 11-9. Lock played at No. 3 for the Mustangs, losing a thriller 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) to Samaha.

Doubles - 2, 3, 1
Singles - 6, 2, 1, 4, 5, 3

The Mustangs will be back in action on Feb. 15th with a matchup against Arizona Christian in Glendale, AZ.
