DENTON, Texas - The Western New Mexico University softball team would play their final two games of the season against the Pioneers of Texas Woman's University. This would end the Mustang career for Bryana Munoz (Dexter, NM/Dexter High School), Cecy Jurado (El Monte, California/South El Monte High school), Andi Uemura (Kona, Hawai'i/Konawaena High School) and Breeanna Simmons (Chula Vista, CA/Olympian High School). The Mustangs would take game one 2-1, but fall in game two, 2-1.

GAME ONE:

The Mustangs would get things started in the 2nd inning with a single from Ramona Fossum (Mescalero, NM/Mescalero Apache HS), scoring Jenna Peters (Lake Elsinore, CA/Temescal Canyon HS) for a 1-0 advantage.

In the 3rd inning Kennedy Marlow would bunt, forcing an error from the Mustangs to allow Alexys Ginegaw to score, tying things up 1-1.

Andi Uemura (Kona, Hawai'i/Konawaena High School) would knock a double in right, scoring Kaylee Hickman (Cloudcroft, NM/Cloudcroft High School) in the top of the 7th inning to retake the lead 2-1.

Kamerynn Cordova (Fowler, CA/Fowler HS) would get the start for the Mustangs. Her line would read 7.0 IP, 7 H, 1 R,  2 BB and 3 Ks. Cordova is now (5-20) on the year.

The Pioneers would start Janyssa Ramos going 7.0 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 1 ER and 2 Ks. Ramos is now (2-9) on the season.

Jenna Peters (Lake Elsinore, CA/Temescal Canyon HS): 1-for-3, 1 R

Kaylee Hickman (Cloudcroft, NM/Cloudcroft High School): 1-for-3, 1 R

GAME TWO:

Cassidy Paulson (Arvada, CO/Golden Colorado HS) got the start for the Mustangs. Paulson's line read 6.1 IP, 9 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB and 5 Ks. Paulson is now (3-7) on the year.

Alyssa LeBlanc would get the start for the Pioneers. LeBlanc would pitch 7.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB and 14 Ks. She is now (18-12) for the season.

The Pioneers would strike first with a SAC Fly from Avery Boley in the 1st inning, scoring Tylar Lane for a 1-0 lead.

Cecy Jurado (El Monte, California/South El Monte High school) would step up in the 5th inning, singling to left, bringing home Uemura to tie things up at 1-1.

In the bottom of the 7th inning LeBlanc would walk-it-off with a single to score Marlow for a 2-1 victory.
