Box Score LA MIRADA, CA – Continuing their roadtrip in California, the Western New Mexico University Men's Tennis team played at BIOLA. The Mustangs went on to fall, 7-0.
BIOLA scrounged out the doubles point and took the early lead. No. 2 duo with Patricio Larrea (Ambato, Ecuador/Atenas High School) and Javier Romero (Tlalnepantla, Mexico/ETAC) won 6-2. No. 1 doubles with Du and Lock lost 6-0. At No. 3 doubles, Lachlan Rowing (Canberra, Australia/Finigan School of Distance Education) and Paul Claussen (Balingen, Germany/Gymnasium Balingen) fell in a nail-biter, 7-5.
At No. 1 singles, Larrea lost 6-1, 7-5. Playing at the No. 2 spot, Rowing fell 6-4, 6-3. Yu Jhe Du (New Taipei City/Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School) played at the No 3 position and lost in consecutive sets at 6-1, 6-2.
Romero played in the No. 4 position and fell 6-4, 6-4. Playing at the No. 5 position, Lock was defeated 6-3, 6-2. Claussen played in the No. 6 spot and lost 6-4, 6-1.
The Mustangs will come back home for three home matches. March 23, the Mustangs will play Arkansas-Fort Smith starting at 10:00am.
