SILVER CITY, N.M. -Â WNMU Tennis has announced their 2023 season with men having three home matches and the women with five.
With Coach of the Year, Alex Hunt, the Men had a (11-10) record, and the women went (6-15). The Mustangs totaled six LSC honors.
The Mustangs will be on the road for the first seven matches. The women will have two DI matches to start the year. Jan. 20th at UTEP and Jan. 21 at New Mexico State. The men will play DI New Mexico State on Jan. 22. The men will also play two more DI matches; one against New Mexico State and Northern Arizona on Feb. 11.
Continuing their non-conference schedule the women will travel to Arizona on Feb. 4 to play Mesa Community College and Eastern Arizona. The men will also play Mesa Community College.
WNMU continues to stay in Phoenix, AZ, the following week. Feb. 16 they play Arizona Christian, and on Feb. 17 they play Colorado Mesa and Ottawa University (AZ).
To start conference play, on Feb. 25, the Mustangs will have their first home match of the year, playing against UTPB. The Mustangs will play March 23 and March 25 at home starting with University Arkansas-Fort Smith and Cameron University. he Woman will play at home on April 7 an April 8, against Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State.
WNMU will hit the road March 9-11, playing three matches versus Hardin-Simmons, UT Tyler and DBU.Â
During spring break, the Mustangs will go to sunny Southern California to play Concordia on March 15 and Biola on March 16.Â
The Mustangs next road trips are March 31 against Midwestern State, at Lubbock Christian on April 1, St. Mary's on April 15, and Our Lady of the Lake on April 15 as well.
The LSC Championship will be the weekend of April 20, in Arlington, TX.
